A pioneering artist and sustainable fashion advocate, Debra Rapoport has been pushing boundaries for over 55 years. Born in NYC in 1945, Debra's artistic journey began in her 70s when she was featured in the groundbreaking documentary Advanced Style.
Debra's unique approach to art revolves around her "A/B/Cs" – Assembling, Building, and Constructing on the body. Using color, texture, and layering, she creates stunning and sustainable fashion pieces. Her work, often described as "Dressing Up, Over and Again," has been featured in renowned collections worldwide.
Debra holds a BA from Carnegie Mellon University and an MA from the University of California, Berkeley. She has taught at prestigious institutions like UC Davis and NYU, sharing her passion for art and sustainability with countless students.
